It’s important to know what’s expected of your business at each stage of the website project. Websites that don’t involve collaboration often fail. Many web designers struggle with unclear roles, which is why we often take over unfinished projects. A successful project requires clear responsibilities from both sides.
Here are the five key areas where we’ll need your help:
1. Project Kickoff and Initial Meetings
We usually need two meetings to get things started. After we sign the contract, we’ll explain our process and gather all the details we need to build your website. Then, we’ll send you a questionnaire, and we’ll meet again to go over your answers.
2. Website Plan Approval
Based on your answers to the questionnaire and our understanding of your goals, we’ll create a plan for your website. This will include an outline of the site’s structure and pages, along with a list of features and other important details. Before we move forward with the design, we need your feedback and approval. We’ll also discuss which parts of the website you’ll provide content for and what we’ll create.
3. Website Layout Approvals
Once we’ve designed the layout of your site, we’ll ask for your feedback. We’ll keep working on it, making revisions as needed, until you’re happy with the design. We won’t start building the site until you approve the layout, which is why we offer unlimited design revisions.
4. Final Review
Once the design is coded and the website is tested on different devices, we’ll do a final walk-through with you. We’ll review everything to make sure it’s working correctly and make any last-minute tweaks. After that, we’ll prepare your site for launch, checking all links to ensure they work properly and your users won’t get lost.
5. Launch and Celebration
Once everything’s set, it’s time to celebrate! At the end of the project, we’ll present the finished site and ensure you’re happy with everything. We’ll show you how to make any changes or updates, and provide you with backup copies of your website content. We’ll also discuss next steps and how we can continue to support you in the future.
In short, we work closely with you every step of the way to ensure your new website meets your needs and exceeds your expectations.
